Island Grub was the first online food ordering and delivery service in Grand Cayman, established in May 2015. The company now provides a wide array of delivery options to customers in Grand Cayman. Island Grub offers a user-friendly platform to browse listings and menus online, and the convenience of ordering food, beverages, groceries, and items from convenience stores for delivery. Selecting a flat delivery fee according to your location from the restaurant/business, Island Grub does not impose additional distance charges.
Island Grub introduced a distinctive delivery model, one of the earliest of its kind, challenging industry norms. Unlike other delivery services, Island Grub does not levy commissions on restaurants or businesses. The company aims to redefine the delivery service landscape by alleviating the financial burden on restaurateurs due to substantial commission fees that can erode their profits, particularly affecting small businesses. By operating similarly to a traditional takeout customer experience where no extra fees are involved, Island Grub endeavors to make the delivery process sustainable with community support.
As a locally owned business, Island Grub is committed to promoting and boosting sales for local food and beverage establishments. Providing an engaging online experience for customers to peruse menus virtually before deciding whether to dine in or opt for takeout with an optional delivery service. Users currently have the ability to track placed orders through a tracking link sent via email and text messages (using a local Cayman Islands number). Although direct tracking within the mobile app is not yet available, this feature is anticipated in future updates.
